Ushers

The Usher Ministry at St. Raphael’s assures a smooth flow of the congregation to their places in the pews, to the altar rail for communion, and in the collection and presentation of the offerings to the altar for the liturgy of Holy Communion.

Ushers are expected to arrive about 25 minutes prior to the worship service and to stay briefly after the service to collect any items that have been left behind in the pews. One Usher rings the call to worship bell outside of the sanctuary five minutes before the service begins. Ushers serve in pairs and typically do so once every five to six weeks.
